Fly4Money Virtual Airline: get paid for be a virtual pilot
Ready to fly cockpit for home build simulators
World first Motion Flight Simulator for FS 98 and FS 2000
Sqwaks Box & FS2000 interesting tutorial
Antonio Valdelomar's explain how he made his Flight Sim Home Build Copkit

It's more or less one month till the idea became in reality. This is what Fly4Money staff says. Fly4Money is a South African new Virtual Airline Venture who go further in the realism: the realism of paying in USA $ to all of their virtual pilots. "You can earn up to 200$ hour".At least this is what the say. A great mistery is rounding the stuning idea. They say they cannot still reveal where they are getting from the money to pay their virtual pilots. Are we facing a new Internet Cheat or are we facing a new Era revolution in the Flight Sim world? In a self made interview extracted  from the questions of their customers, Fly4Pay answers a lot of questions, some of them yet not 100% clear. But read this Q&A below:

Where are you getting the money from to pay all the Pilots?

Fly4Money is a concept based on two seperate entities integrated together. One the one side, we have our Pilots. They will not contribute to this concept in any way financially. On the other will be a system of earning money, advertised separately, earning revenue. This side will not be for the interest of Pilots directly, unless they choose this to be so. At present, we are unable to protect this concept. It is sure that, once this system goes live, there will be a large number of Virtual Airlines, following in our footsteps. In order to potect the unique-ness of our concept, we ask that everyone remain patient while we iron out the final release of the system. Be assured that the WHOLE process will be clearly visible, and all doubts and fears will be completely eradicated, at this time. We apologise once again for any concern caused by this, and appeal to all Pilots’ patience in this regard.

Who will be able to participate in this concept?

Anyone who feel they have the necessary knowledge to operate an aircraft effectively in Flight Simulator 2000. At present, our youngest Pilot is only 7 years old. Although he may not be as qualified and experienced as some of our veteran colleagues, this will show that the system is available to anyone, anywhere. Be reminded, however, that payment is directly linked to performance. Pilots will be expected to EARN their money.

How will pilots be paid?

All Pilots will be required to join PayPal for payments. Pilots MUST NOT until we go live. At this time, Pilots will be issued with Pilot Numbers. They will use this to regiter with PayPal. Funds will be transferred MONTHLY, on the last day of each month. Pilots can learn more about PayPal on http://www.paypal.com regarding the operation of this service.

Will Pilots still be required to supply Credit Card details?

No. Pilots will have to supply banking information to the PayPal service. We will not have access to registration details with PayPal. Previously, in error, we published that Pilots would be paid by credit to their credit cards. Since this caused some concern, we opted for the PayPal concept to be used in stead. A special thanks to Dr. Eric Archer for suggesting this solution.

Why do you say Pilots can earn UP TO $200 per hour. When will this happen?

If you scan through the aircraft sections, you will notice that the payment of funds is linked to the experience (hours) of a Pilot, on a certain type of Aircraft. As an example, on the Boeing 747-400, a Pilot will be considered FULLY QUALIFIED after having successfully passed the written test, and the practical flight test. A Pilot further needs to complete One (1) complete flight before he will start earning money. He could do this at ANY time. So - once he has passed the written and practical test, flown one “free” flight and logged 1000 hours of flight time WITH US, he will be considered fully qualified. Then, a perfect flight will earn him US$1,845 basic salary, plus a 10% bonus, bringing his pay to $2,029.50. If the flight was 8 hours (maximum length), he has earned $253.69 per hour!

What is a “Perfect Flight?”

A perfect flight will be one from the RIGHT airport, the RIGHT runway, flown at the RIGHT climb-rates, cruising at the RIGHT altitude, following the RIGHT flight-path, descending at the RIGHT time, approaching on the RIGHT approach pattern, landing on the RIGHT runway, and running to a full stop.

When will this system go on-line.

We have to be honest. There is still quite a bit of work to be done. Since this concept is pretty complicated in terms of database manipulation, user registration, etc. we predict approximately another month. It may be less, or it may be a little more. Again, we appear to you for soem patience while we finalize and test our concept.

What if the system goes live, and I am not interested.

When we go live, only Pilots that register on our site, receive a Pilot number, Register with Payal and pass the tests will be considered members. If you do not do all of the above, you should not need to do anything more but ignore us.

I saw reference to a “site” for the Pilot. What is this about.

This is NOT the other part of the business. These “sites” will be the Pilots way of contributing to our service, by advertising the money-making side of our concept. This will be somewhat similar to the “on-line record stores” that are out there, but not totally the same. Pilots will get these sites automatically. If a Pilot wishes to have no part in this, he/she simply does nothing. If however, the Pilot wants to accelerate his earning potention as both a “sales office” and a Pilot, he may advertise, or register his site on-line. By increasing the traffic to HIS site, in stead of to OURS, the Pilot will assure earnings for himself. A Pilot can increase his earnings per flight by up to $1,100 per flight, inconsiderate of his hours, or the quality of his flight. These sites will generate “flat income.” The penalties applied for improper flying, accidents, etc. will not affect the earnings made form a Pilot’s site.

Isn’t this just another MLM, or Pyramid marketing scheme?

No .At no time will Pilots be able to enrol any other “site owners” under theirs. This system will run only ONE level deep. Although the Pilot will have to advertise his site in order to earn money, no-one but him will earn money from that site. All earnings from the Pilot’s site go directly to him No multi-level marketing.

Will Pilot’s be expected to enter into Banner-exchange programs?

Not by our doing, no. If a Pilot feels that he can increase traffic to his site by entering into banner exchange programs, this will be approved by us, prior to his using this system. We will not allow any of our Pilots to exchange banners with offensive or non-flight related services.

I read that Pilots will not be allowed to belong to any other VA. Why is this?

By ensuring our exclusivity, we will be able to keep this system alive for long. It is almost certain that other VA’s will start offering a “get paid to fly” service, once they see the simplicity of our system. We have decided to do this, in order to attempt to ensure that VA’s hopping on the so-called “band-wagon” will not affect us.

What if I want to leave you service and join another VA that is paying money?

As per our agreement policy that will be in force at that time, Pilots leaving our VA will not be allowed to collect ANY outsanding monies when they leave to join another VA. Yet - Pilots will be free to do this.

What if another VA decides to “steal” your Pilots - how will you keep us interested?

We will be working very closely with our Pilots, in order to establish their concerns and preferences. If another VA were to attempt to poach our Pilots, it will ben our Pilots’ decision to leave, or not.

If another VA offers higher salaries - will your meet the offer?

It is most likely that a price-war will ensue once the paying VA service starts expanding. We will consider this option if and when this happens. Presently, our system is based on a very carefully designed concept. We doubt that anyone will be able to simply change a couple of numbers and comete effecively.

Many people think this is a scam. What is your reaction to this?

We understand their concerns. If this is a scam, they will have been right, and everyone will leave our service. There have been threats that we would be reported to the FBI and even the IRS. This will certainly be done. If this not a scam however, Pilots will have an opportunity to earn up to $200 per hour!

Does it bother you that people say that this MUST be a scam since you do not want to tell how it’s done?

No .Again, we reiterate. When this system goes live, all will be revealed. Anyone can then decide whether or not this is a scam.

What if I only find out it IS A SCAM, after I have joined.

Full details will be available in the public-access area. Pilots not wishing to join will be aware of this BEFORE they register. Only if people feel comfortable with the service will they have the OPTION to join. We cannot force anyone to join anything.

Will the number of Pilots that can join be limited?

No. We intend to operate this service in a way that will not limit the number of Pilots. But, remember though that only Pilots that PASS our tests will be considered registered members.

Will there be a minimum, or maximum number of flights a Pilot can do per month?

Yes - a minimum. Pilots will be expected to fly at least once every month. Pilots not flying for more than three consecutive months will automatically be removed from the service. Also, each flight will be subject to a “rest period.” On the Mooney Bravo, the Pilot can fly as often as he wants. On the 747-400 Pilots will be expected to “rest” for 7 days before they are allowed to fly THIS aircraft again. Pilots can fly ANY other aircraft during their rest-period, subject to the rest periods for THOSE particular aircraft. Effectively, Pilots will be able to fly every day, all day, if they wish.

How will you monitor the “perfection” of a Pilot’s flight?

We have a pretty good idea of this, but we are currently testing this system. Any suggestions will be appreciated.

What will you do if a Pilot is found to have cheated?

The Pilot will be stricken from the roll, and will NEVER be able to join our service again. Please remember that a Pilot earning money by dishonest means will have taken that amount of money away from YOUR earning potential.

Who came up with this idea?

Our CEO, Stan Bezuidenhout, is the innovator of the concept. He has a long history of international business dealings and is widely travelled throughout the US, Canada and Africa.

Will you be offering any job opportunities?

At the moment, our staff compliment is limited to four partners in the venture. However, we would be happy to listen to anyone’s suggestions, and to loook at Resume’s. Feel free to contact us, and to offer your services. One never knows what kind of expertise is available out there. We are still looking for people to assist us with:

1. Designing custom aircraft skins.

2. Hosting mirror web-sites elsewhere in the world (for traffic purposes).

3. Virtual Airlines that would like to expand into the Paying VA field. Partnerships and Association are options.

Will you be offering training for Virtual Pilots?

Not initially. We are currently so busy getting the system operational, that we would not be able to devote any time to training pilots.

Why wouldn’t Pilots simply not send in their flights, if they had an accident?

Simply because - even if a Pilot crashed - he will still get paid an amount of 10% of wages. However - Pilots MUST complete at least 50% of the flight to qualify for payment. Also - flights will be real-time monitored. If a flight is scheduled to take 8 hours, and we only receive the flight completion notification after 1 hours, we will obviously know that there was something wrong.

What kind of questions will you ask of Pilots during the tests?

The questions will relate to flying ingeneral, with focus on issues relating to the complexity of the anticipated flights, based on the Aircraft you are attempting to qualify on.

How do we know what the results of our flights are, and whether we have not been “under-paid?”

All Pilots will receive an e-mail informing them of the results of their flight, the problems that were found, the extent of the problems, and the pay due. Please remember however, that this system will be enforced very strictly. Poor piloting endangers lives in real life. If our case, it will threaten your income.

What if I have suggestions that could improve your service, site or concept?

Pilots offering useful suggestions will be awarded in flight hours. The more hours you log, the closer you get to the big pay-day, get it?

How many times can I re-write a test, if I failed?

As many times as you want to. We are wanting Pilots to join. If you are stuck with particular tests (say on the 747-400), you are welcome to ask other Pilots for assistance and training.

Will your service be area-specific (Like only in Africa), or somewhere else?

The complexity of our service, as well as the number of anticipated charters, dictated that we will have to run charters world-wide.

The pay seems to be much higher on the Helicopters. Is this so?

Yes. This is mostly so because we realize that flying rotary is much more challenging than fixed-wing. Especially in FS2000.

You said that flights would be set to full realism. Helicopters are almost impossible to fly this way. How are you going to address this problem?

We are aware of the challenges of flying in a simulated environment. With your flight charter, you will receive a list of realism, weather and location settings. These will vary depending on the flight and the Aircraft used.

I already have a PayPal account. You said pilots must not register yet. What now?

We are currently investigating this. The solution will either be to register with a new PayPal account, or to change the user-name of the existing one to your Pilot number. If neither works, you will keep your existing account.

Considering the amount of money you claim you will pay out to Pilots, will any of it go to charities?

Yes. We will be contributiong a share from ALL revenues to charities. At this stage, we would appreciate any suggestions, as to which charities to contribute to. Pilots will be able to decide which charities their Pilot Sites will benefit. It will be the Pilot’s duty to contact the charity of his choice, in order to arrange for the charity to get a PayPal account as well.

What if I do not want to contribute to a charity.

If Pilots do not suggest any particular charity, the charity share will go to a default beneficiary, like theWorld Wild-life Fund or something.

Will you be running passenger and freight charters?

At present, we are not considering these as options. We need to get the basic system up and running before we can expand into other areas. Presently, we are focusing on passenger charters.

Are you licensed as an e-business?

The free enterprise legislation in South Africa does not require us to register as any unique business-type. What we will need to do, is to register for Value Added and Income TAX with the IRS. But, only when we earn in exccess of a certain amount. We can also register as a Close Corporation, a Pty or a trust, if we so desire, but in South Africa, with our emerging economy, this is not mandatory.

Will you have an area where Pilots’ hours will be displayed for everyone to see?

Yes. Out Pilot’s lounge will list ALL our Pilots in order of earnings. It is important that new Pilots be able to see that other Pilots have earned mone, and how much.

What if I don’t want others to know how much I’ve earned?

Then you will request this at the time of your registration. On the registration page, Pilots will choose what information will be public, and what will not. However, ALL Pilots’ names and hours flown will apprear in the Pilot Roster.

What will you do to ensure our privacy and protect us from spam mail?

Again, this will be determined by YOU. If you only have your name displayed, spamming is nearly impossible. If you choose to have your e-mail displayed, that is your choice.

What if you get hacked, and my hard-earned Piot’s salary gets stolen?

Firstly, we will not be keeping your money. It is handled, and protected by PayPal, as per their terms of service and protection protocol. No-one is perfect, but financial decisions will not be automated. We will pay Pilots manually. The financial calculations will be made on another stand-alone system, not connected to the Internet, or a network. Thus - Internet based hacking of our financial manager’s PC will be impossible.

What if “the other side” of your bussiness does not make any money, will we have flown for nothing?

No. Pilots will not be able to depart on their flights until a certain earning-target has been reached. Then, we all know that the money is THERE, waiting to be collected by the Pilot. The Pilot can then concentrate on his flying, and stop worrying about where the money is coming from.

How will we know that you are not just saying that there is no money?

Pilots will be able to monitor the financial status of their charter on-line. We will not be able to with-hold this information. This part, will be automated.

Will Pilots HAVE to start flying on the Mooney Bravo, or can they fly any plane they choose, like the 737-400, from the start?

Pilots will be able to start anywhere they wish. The bigger boys will earn you more money, but those flights require more skill, and longer hours in front of your console.

What will happen to my pay if my PC crashes. This is not Pilot error but hardware/software errors.

Unfortunately - for our purposes, a crash is a crash. Perhaps this will motivate users to ensure that their PC’s are operating at peak efficiency, and that everyone will not install thousands of un-tested utils and accessories.

What if I don’t own Flight Sim 2000. Can I fly my Flight Sim 98, or FS95?

Unfortunately, we will only accept users of Flight Sim 2000 standard and Professional. We are trying to standardize the system. Incompatibilities are often a problem between various versions. We will not be in the business of finding solutions for any incompatibilities. If you do not own a copy of FS2000, get it. If you fly for us, you may make much more money than you’ve spent on the software.

Why did you choose Flight Sim 2000? Are you in partnership with Microsoft?

We chose FS2000 because we own the software. And - no - we are not in partnership with Microsoft. But, if anyone has friends with Microsoft, like Mr. Gates, please let them know about the good work we are doing. LOL

The dimensions are 100% accurate and come ready to hang your fittings and internal hardware off. Read about this great project that can cheap your own project if you are thinking about to initiate your own cockpit dream."We originally purchased our cockpit in July '99 - they say -and soon learned how hard it was to prepare this type of structure for simulator use. It took us at least 7 months with 2 people working on the thing to finally have it ready for sim fitout only to find that we would have to cut away a considerable part of the structure to gain access to vital hidden areas. With the 'glass' cockpit you don't have any preparation problems, no structure to cut away, no sanding, painting or redundant equipment to remove. It is simply a matter of just bolting or screwing on any parts you have purchased or made. In fact this system is so easy, you could be up and flying in your own real cockpit in as little as a day or so. Real sim manufacturers use fiberglass cockpits, so why don't you?"  Just go to this guys project site

After 2 years of hard work and production from their developers, Full Motion Flight Simulator was born. The simulator is based on a commercial airliner. Although creators had agreed to build an Airbus style simulator, they first implemented standard yokes instead of sidesticks.
"But after experiencing several problems with AETI's yokes (very poor quality !) we replaced them with sidesticks". Says the builders.

In April/May 2000 the simulator was rechecked. All the wiring was redone, sidesticks and all panels were rebuilt. A housing in light gray and rubber bellows were added for security reasons.

Actually it was pretty tough to find a place since the room height had to be at least 2.90 meters, 8.80 feet respectively. "As one can expect this project probably is never going to end", the say again "however we believe that what we achieved is pretty spectacular".

The simulator is located in Oberwil, 6 kilometers from Zurich-Kloten Airport in Switzerland, and can be rented or even buyed. Builder offer too for free their own created software so that others copkit builders can implement it into their procjets. The only condition to such a offering is that you must not use this software with commercial porposes. A very good idea that you can see at their Full Motion Flight Simulator site at:

Antonio Valdelomar explain in this wonderful article to Avion Magazine.Com how he had built a dual copkit in his own home. Antonio, 73 years old, was the founder of the Alicante Air Club and has the number 1 membership in this club. Antonio is also a former civil pilot who flew with Spantax.
I always had the illusion of flying in a flightsimulator and to experience in all my wishes to fly with bad visibility and under extreme meteorological conditions as well as to practice with different airplanes and approaches ILS's.

All this is very difficult to practice in the reality, due to the risk that exists if one doesn't make under the direction of an instructor and of course, to a very high cost. Nowadays thanks to the existent programs and to the advance that has been gotten in the processors and graphic cards, with a computer one can almost simulate the reality in what refers to the part visual and programming of the different instruments and flight controls. However, the functional part it is other stage that it is necessary to play to get together with the programming, a very acceptable realism.

The first thing that it is necessary to have very in sight is the situation and location of all the components in the construction of a home built flight simulator. The cost of construction can vary substantially according to one he/she wants to come closer more to the reality. In this case we have offered, among my brother Rafael and me, to look for the maximum realism working during one month four daily hours to get what you see in the screenshots, where are my brother and me, enjoying when flying with a 737 or an Airbus TO-320 using the program EFIS 98, and their downloaded patch of Internet so that the FMS works with the program Flight Simulator 2000, using two computers Pentium III/700 with graphic card GeForce2 GTS official statements among if for Net in LAN by means of two Fast Ethernet Adapter 10/100 mbps, installing in the main computer the Flight Simulator 2000 and in the second the EFIS 98.

The materials used in their construction are:
It structures of the flight simulator made up of angle of metallic bookcase forming a cube of the following dimensions:
Height: 1.000 mm
Width: 1.100 mm
Depth: 700 mm
The dimension of the base or floor of the simulator is of 1.115 x 1.700 mm in pressed board of TP of 160 mm
The axes of the controls of the steering wheel (YOKE CH PRODUCT) are located to a height of the base of 750 mm and separate the two axes among if at a distance of 560 mm
The holes of the front panel where the pedals are located (PRO PEDALS) are 500 mm high for 400 mm width.
The seats with their guides of sliding this separate ones among if for 200 mm being these of an automobile.
The cube formed by the estructure of metallic angle is covered by means of wooden panels of marine plywood of 8 mm of thickness and atached to screws.

In the frontal the holes will open up to introduce the different elements of the console, in this case there are elect, according to our opinion, the most reliable in the market: SAFELINE FLIGHT CONSOLED (STUDIO JET) easy to program, since it's not necesary the Epic Card. This Console is also useful to fly airplanes of helix like the STUDIO MULTI or other simpler ones.

These panels later on and once open the holes, be upholstered with a fine piece of cloth or with felt.
With respect to the vision we have used a screen or monitor color of high resolution SONY MULTISCAN 520 GS 21" as main screen, which will be substituted by one of it captures of 50" PIONEER, and using for the FMS (EFIS 98) a monitor color of 10" with a resolution of 1.024 x 768.

Regarding the control systems, we have used to unite and to synchronize the two YOKE among if and in their turn movements and depth, a cane or articulate column of control of an real wrecked CESNA 172 with their transmission to the two axes of steering wheels by a chain (see the screenshot). Note: This column can be manufactured by oneself because their new original cost is prohibitive.

To couple the two CH YOKE to this control column we have had to introduce a axis hit by the interior of the CH YOKE and to insert a joining Cardan Universal for correct the angle from the two turn axes to the control cane. The pedals (PROPEDALS): it is necessary to modify them coupling two control axes that go by means of a beam that unites the right pedal of the position from the commandant to the left pedal of the first officer; the material employee is aluminum pletina (see the screenshots).

Approximate cost of the used materials:

Wood 105 $USA
Metallic angles, support, joinings and systems 474 $USA
Seats, tapestry, painting and moldes 326 $USA
Two computers Pentium complete III/700 3.158 $USA
Two CH Yoke 263 $USA
Two Propedals 300 $USA
Console Safeline Jet 1.290 $USA
Monitors of 21" and 10" high resolution 2.105 $USA
Program and making drivers 632 $USA
Miscelaneus and illumination of consoles 211 $USA
TOTAL 8.864 $USA
NOTE: The value of a 50" plasm screen 14.211 $USA
